Business challenges

Radicare is a leading integrated facilities management company that specializes in the provision of non-clinical support services to the healthcare sector in Malaysia. Its offerings include biomedical engineering maintenance, facility engineering maintenance, healthcare waste management, linen and laundry, cleansing services, as well as fleet management and logistics.

Radicare used Oracle E-Business Suite for financial reporting but wanted to move away from on-premises hardware to support its long-term modernization goals.  The company needed a single cloud platform that could incorporate connected applications to handle supply chain management, finance, and procurement.

“With on-premises hardware, we needed to replace it every three years,” says Siti Khatijah Mohammed Rabawi, Senior Manager at GICT. “We also have multiple systems that we need to integrate with the financial system so that management can see one single report on the dashboard.”

Why Radicare chose Oracle

After careful consideration, Radicare selected Oracle Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) because of Oracle’s demonstrated leadership in cloud computing. The company also appreciated the ability to integrate several systems into a single platform and tie back-office systems together to automate processes like reporting, inventory, and procurement to save time and money. Database security and a plethora of ready-to-use modules were also factors in Radicare’s choice to adopt Oracle Cloud ERP.

Oracle’s vast experience in implementing ERP systems was a key reason why Radicare decided to implement Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP for accounting and financial reporting. The fact that Oracle could provide an integrated, end-to-end solution was another driving factor.

Results

Radicare transformed its financial reporting process by adopting Oracle Cloud ERP. In the past, report generation would take up to two weeks, but now it is accomplished automatically. Employees use the time to focus on tasks that are more beneficial to the business.

By adding Oracle Cloud Supply Chain Management (SCM), Radicare also solved daunting supply chain requirements stemming from the company’s decentralized processes. Radicare allowed its various locations to purchase supplies, such as cleaning products and ambulance spare parts. With Oracle Cloud SCM, the company’s 3,000 employees can make these purchases more quickly and easily.

Another benefit is the easy access to information. If questions come up about how to use the applications or how to maintain a configuration, staffers can access the information right away. For Radicare, moving to the cloud also means that there is no need to buy and maintain on-premises hardware, resulting in considerable savings. Looking ahead, Radicare is preparing to extend the procurement apps from Oracle to the supplier.

Partners

Oracle partner Olivestouch Technologies Sdn. Bhd. played a key role in the efficient and smooth implementation of Oracle Cloud ERP. The process took six months. Moving forward, Olivestouch will continue to maintain the applications and provide the necessary support.
